4. Personal safety

4.1 Electrical risk prevention

In France, publication UTE C 18-510 sets out the requirements to be observed by personnel in order to prevent electrical risks. It applies to operations undertaken during the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical installations (substations and lines).

Live conductors enclosed in continuous earthed enclosures ensure total safety against the risk of voltage proximity. The construction conditions relating to personnel safety set out in fascicule therefore only make sense in the vicinity of overhead connection interfaces consisting of atmospheric gas-air crossings.
