3. Recommended combination of ground wire and conductor

In addition to considerations of dimensioning for fault currents and mechanical safety requirements, the ground wire cannot be chosen independently of the conductor it protects. It must be ensured that the ground wire and the conductor have comparable geometrical behavior. This reduces the risk of the two types of cable coming dangerously close together (in the event of overloading or icing).

Example

Thym 157.4 is suitable for light frost, while Thym 268 is suitable for medium and heavy frost.

Table 12 shows the mechanical association between ground wire and conductor, to avoid the risk of ignition.
