1. Connection of distributed generation
1.1 Preamble
The protection schemes described so far apply to radial networks fed by a primary (T)HV/MV substation. The power flow is unidirectional, from the substation to the network. Today, we are witnessing a massive influx of decentralized generation connected to MV distribution networks, which can significantly alter the flow of power and have consequences for the protection plan.
