5. Foisonnement
A harmonic quantity (voltage or current) is defined by its amplitude. It is also defined by its phase angle. The notion of phase is particularly important when there are several sources of disturbance on a network, and you want to calculate the resulting current (or voltage). This is because the harmonic currents emitted by the various sources add up vectorially.
You need to be very careful with this notion of phase, as not all meters indicate the angle with respect to the same reference. Some give the angle in relation to the zero crossing of the voltage, or even the fundamental current, while others give it in relation to the harmonic voltage. These quantities do not have the same physical meaning.
