3. Application and sustainable battery management

Battery technologies have applications in a multitude of sectors, but one of the most significant is undoubtedly electric vehicles. Batteries play a central role in the development of electric and hybrid vehicles, providing a clean source of energy and helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The requirements in terms of vehicle battery performance, safety and cost are extremely high, driving constant innovation in this field.

Improving battery performance, particularly in terms of energy capacity, charge time and service life, is a constant objective of current research. Modeling lithium-ion batteries enables us to predict their behavior in service, taking into account complex phenomena such as material aging and parasitic reactions. This aging, which can reduce battery efficiency and capacity over time, is a major challenge, particularly for automotive applications...
