5. Dielectric resonator shape
The dielectric resonator is generally presented in cylindrical form, but it can also be cubic or spherical. The cubic case enables cavities with triple modes to be realized via the 3 axes of the cube, thus saving a factor of 3 on the volume of a filter. Similarly, the spherical case has been developed for filter applications at 850 MHz for radiotelephony
