3.1 Dielectric constant

The index n The relative magnetic permeability of a dielectric medium is defined as the ratio of the speed of light in the dielectric medium to the speed of light in a vacuum. It depends on both the dielectric permittivity and the magnetic permeability. In this article, we consider a material with homogeneous and isotropic properties. The relative magnetic permeability is equal to 1, which is generally the case for dielectric resonators. The index n is then written as:
