4. Advanced internal organization
Behind this title lie modifications to the basic structure, with the multiplication of elementary memory planes, the addition of a memory level or the adaptation of the component to an application.
4.1 Multi-bank approach
To increase throughput, one approach is to divide the memory into several banks (figure 18 ), each consisting of a storage matrix and the control logic. They can be seen as small, independent memories. Access to a bank is identical to conventional access. The address is a triplet (bank, row, column). Several banks can be opened at the same time, making it possible to carry out separate read and write operations in different banks. They are accessed in parallel....
