2. Classic devices

The devices, components and circuits used in the microwave field are partly specific to the frequency of use and the effect of propagation. Resistors and chokes are not designed and modeled in the same way for low-frequency and microwave electronics.

  • To work in the microwave field, it is therefore necessary to define, describe the behavior of and model all the components needed in this field:

    • first, basic passive components, resistors, chokes, capacitors ;

    • but also more specific passive components such as propagation lines, transitions between lines, filters, couplers, ferrite devices (especially for non-reciprocal passive devices), multilayer link/distribution circuits
