7. Cable pulse transformers

The use of cable sections makes it relatively easy to create pulse transformers. Two types of transformer are used: the inverter transformer and the doubler transformer. In this application, the cable can be modeled by an ideal line governed by a telegrapher's equation associated with an inductive impedance representing the cable's outer conductor. This impedance can be artificially increased by winding the cable (a few turns) on a ferrite core.
