11. Fax evolution

The arrival of the Internet has not dampened the success of faxing. In fact, sales of fax machines continue to grow, and their use continues unabated.

But will faxing be left out of the Internet wave?

No way!

The Internet should open up new prospects for faxing. Fax transmission over the Internet benefits from lower tariffs, but this argument has not yet led to a considerable number of fax machines being installed on the Internet.

On the other hand, IP telephony is set to become increasingly popular in the corporate sector. This reduces internal connection costs by eliminating the internal telephone network (the local computer network supports all exchanges), and takes advantage of the voice-data-image synergy enabled by the IP protocol.
