3. Example of a solution

The advantage of an IP solution for smart objects in the context of building instrumentation can be illustrated by the figure 2 .

As shown in figure 2 , this solution allows :

• share installation costs;

• enable cross-functional communications between different systems;

• make the system flexible and easy to expand;

• concentrate feedback to facilitate management.

All these factors improve the return on investment of the systems deployed in the building....
