6. Management and security protocols
It's no longer possible to build a network without adding a management system capable of handling the problems associated with security, addressing, planning, performance optimization, accounting and so on. This is a highly complex field, due to the diversity of the problems to be solved. Standardization has made it possible to define a number of basic documents for management protocols. These standards define the general framework for network management. In particular, the reference model standard contains the basic elements of management. Part 4 of this ISO 7498-4 standard describes the general framework for standardized management.
Another way of developing management environments comes from SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), which was born out of the TCP/IP environment.
