1. NFC principles and standards
Interacting with your environment, exchanging information, validating tickets and making purchases from your cell phone with a simple gesture - these are just some of the uses enabled by NFC technology. NFC is a very short-range contactless communication technology operating at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. It enables communication and information exchange over short distances (< 10 cm) between two objects: a reader and a contactless card, for example. The main advantages of this technology are speed, ease of use and security. Integrated into a cell phone, it can read the contents of contactless cards or contactless tags (known as "tags" or "transponders"), dematerialize contactless cards such as bankcards, travel tickets or loyalty cards, and exchange data between two terminals.
