6. NFC use cases

The aim of this section is to provide the reader with examples of NFC Reader/Writer applications. Two examples of messages in NDEF format will be given.

The first example is a Smart Poster, i.e. an NFC tag containing a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) and additional information, in this case a title in text format. The URI is a string of characters referring to a specific resource, such as "tel:" to initiate a phone call, "http://" to access a page on the Internet, and so on. When the user approaches this tag with his NFC mobile, the URI-related action is triggered.

The second example illustrates how easy it is to pair two devices via an NFC tag. The tag will contain the connection information (MAC address, equipment name, etc.) needed to establish a Bluetooth connection between an NFC mobile and a piece of equipment. In this case, the...
