YANG module developers have taken both top-down and bottom-up approaches to establish a mapping between a network technology and customer requirements at the top or to abstract common constructs from various network technologies at the bottom. There are many YANG data models including configuration and service models that have been specified or are being specified by many Standards Development Organizations (SDOs). They cover many of the networking protocols and techniques.
