7. Conclusion

Beyond the current hype surrounding SDN lies the combined activation of a variety of complex techniques that are not only designed to facilitate the decision process for routing traffic in a network by separating the control and transfer planes.

Some of the techniques that make up an SDN architecture have been studied, specified and even standardized for several years, but have not been massively deployed until now.

One of the main reasons for this is the inherent complexity of activating these SDN techniques in a coherent, coordinated and fully automated way.
