2. SDN environment

Network environments are classically based on a three-tier organization:

• the transfer plan ;

• the control plan ;

• the management plan.

• Each of these planes is characterized by different functions, such as :

  • traffic routing and routing ;

  • safety ;

  • quality of service (including traffic engineering functions and performance guarantees);

  • management, such as fault, performance, security, configuration and metering management.
