6. Tracking

The tracking process can be illustrated as shown in figure 12 :

  • measurements are taken from the extractor specific to each sensor;

  • correlation realizes the measurement-track association;

  • track management then considers three cases:

    • the measure is associated with an existing runway: runway maintenance,

    • the measurement cannot be associated with any track: initialize a new track,

    • for some runways, there are no measures: potential runway destruction ;

  • filtering performs estimation at current time k and prediction at time k + 1 ;
