4. Processing and using the point cloud
The following section is dedicated to the various steps involved in working with point clouds. For the most part, they can be repeated whatever the origin of the point cloud: whether it has been obtained via airborne lidars, whether it is the result of dense correlations via digital photogrammetry or any other system enabling the generation of 3D pixelated data.
4.1 Cleaning
To obtain a usable point cloud of an object or scene, you need to start by cleaning up unnecessary impacts. This is particularly important when :
