2. Basic components
An Android application is made up of a set of components. The activity component (android.app.Activity) is central and is associated with the notion of view.
2.1 Views
A view is a graphical user interface element.
Views are organized hierarchically. Views are objects whose attributes specify their shape, layout, interaction mode and other characteristics. We distinguish between widgets (android.view.View), objects with which the user can interact (button, text box, checkbox, etc.) and layouts (android.view.ViewGroup) used as containers for other views.
