2. Legal control of the VSA and first experiments

2.1 Legal framework, players and use cases

Algorithmic processing is based on image samples collected by authorized video protection systems, under the responsibility of the French government. These images are analyzed beforehand to correct biases and errors.

To preserve data confidentiality, pseudonymization or blurring techniques may be applied, provided that these operations do not compromise the technical quality of the processing. Only duly designated and authorized Ministry of the Interior staff are authorized to access data processing during the design phase. Data is kept for a maximum period of twelve months from the recording of the images, and is deleted at the end of the experimental period.
