Determining the volume and arrangement of catalyst beds requires precise knowledge of the reaction rate.

Figure 4 shows the isovocity curves calculated from the Temkin-Pyzhew equation for a pressure of 20 MPa. Each curve has a maximum whose locus is line AB.
