CO 2 capture is envisaged for stationary sources emitting significant quantities of CO 2 . This is notably the case for power plants operating on coal or natural gas, iron and steel plants, cement plants, refineries. In addition, a number of industrial facilities emit pure CO 2 . These are prime targets for the recovery and geological storage of emitted CO 2 .
