2.1 Fundamental concepts and tools

TRIZ is the Russian acronym for "Theory of Inventive Problem Solving". This theory helps each individual to realize his or her creative potential by providing a favorable environment for the expression of creativity.

TRIZ is a systematic, knowledge-based methodology for effective, inventive problem solving, dedicated to any type of technical problem, whatever its field of origin. TRIZ theory is different from other methods of helping to generate inventions, in that it operates via generic models of problems and solutions, and not on the spontaneous creativity of groups of individuals.
