2. Air displacement dehydration

Blowing compressed gas into the filter cake is a dewatering method that is used as soon as the medium is sufficiently permeable (permeability of 10 -10 to 10 -15 m 2 ), as the operation takes place on the filter itself, which reduces investment. To predict performance, we need to determine :

  • the saturation equilibrium reached at the end of the operation;

  • the flow of gas consumed ;

  • prediction of moisture profiles in the cake.

More or less sophisticated models have been proposed in the literature to answer these questions [9][10]
