The Shell Gasification Process (SGP) is a partial oxidation process that converts a hydrocarbon feedstock into synthesis gas (CO + H 2 ), according to the following general scheme:

C n H m + n / 2 O 2 ® n CO + m / 2 H 2

This transformation is the result of a large number of reactions, the main ones of which are described below.
