10. Conclusion

Continuous improvement is still in its infancy in France and Europe. To date, only a handful of companies have been able to appropriate these new concepts and use them to prepare for and adapt to the new context of uncertainty, turbulence and immediacy. Our tenacious heritage, both managerial and accounting, our quest for stability and our aversion to the unknown, lead us to cling to our old model. It's hard to face the facts and abandon a martingale we know so well, and which has worked so well for so many years. But let's face it: the world has changed, and it will never be the same again.

The three schools of continuous improvement - TOC, lean and 6s - are perfectly suited to this new trend, and are therefore a fantastic opportunity to challenge ourselves and reinvent the company. We're a long way from the simple toolboxes confined to the workshop, as companies...
