2. Influence of non-isothermicity on catalytic interaction

To clarify the influence of non-isothermicity, we will consider the case of a catalytic reaction of kinetic order 1, but the analyses presented can be extended to any rate law.

The catalyst particle being represented by the pseudo-homogeneous model of the half-thickness sheet l , in steady state and in the absence of internal convective flow, the differential material and energy balances between thicknesses x and x + dx are written respectively :
