2.1 Preamble

In this article, we'll confine ourselves to ionogel-silica chemical gels. These are solids formed by a host network percolating in the shaping volume, in which one or more ionic liquids are contained, in addition to a possible salt. The host network is three-dimensional, interconnected and open, ensuring that the ionic liquid network also percolates through it (figure 1 ).
