The need for energy diversification in order to reduce our dependence on oil, the necessary reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and continued efforts to improve air quality all call for the development of increasingly efficient, environmentally-friendly vehicles. As a result, legislators, transport industry players, car and truck manufacturers, politicians and end-users, to name but a few, are focusing their efforts and expressing their interest in making available vehicles that emit fewer and fewer regulated or even unregulated pollutants. What's more, in an international context where standards aimed at drastically reducing pollutant emissions from vehicles are becoming increasingly stringent
