5.1 Applications

Dry classification is a necessity when grinding is carried out in the dry, or when you need to classify materials that react with water, or products whose fineness would make solid-liquid separations very difficult.

The devices can be used :

  • in an open circuit, usually involving dust removal;

  • in a closed circuit with a shredder, either to adjust the fineness of shredding, or to pre-classify before shredding, especially when the aim is to remove a coarse fraction from mineral materials;

  • in cascade, depending on whether the aim is to obtain different granular slices, or to relieve machines producing fine cuts with low unit flows....
