5. Fields of application

For processes derived from analytical techniques, the fields are obviously those of analysis, the only distinction being the quantity of product and the possibility of recovering it.

As far as processes specifically designed for their preparative aspect are concerned, the fields of application are much broader. As separation takes place in a liquid stream, their use is no longer restricted to products that are soluble in the medium.
