8. And tomorrow

France is finally recognizing companies as sources of the wealth they create in their workshops and factories. It has understood the strategic error of "de-industrialization", an error from which we do not know if it will be able to recover. We need to sell, to export, to create the jobs that are essential to social stability, and to cut our abysmal debt, which the COVID 19 pandemic has only accentuated.

In the foregoing, we have tried to highlight the main industrial "mechanisms" of the Enterprise, from strategy to process, from engineering to operations, with a strong focus on products and people.

• Old concepts remain valid! An analysis of the Italian manufacturing industry bears witness to this (see § 6-12). But the ecological and energy transitions have changed the situation, and there is a new awareness. We've...
