2.1 Increasingly enlightened consumers – A need for standardization

Environmental and social concerns play an increasingly important role in consumer choices. Increasingly enlightened, better informed and equipped with the means to investigate, consumers have become major players in the implementation of more harmonious economic development that is ecologically respectful of natural resources.
