1. The different types of dispersions

1.1 Different types of blends

Formulation is the use of physical transformations, mainly mixing operations, to obtain one or more application properties.

Some mixtures occur spontaneously, on a molecular scale: for example, the molecules of some liquids mix spontaneously with those of other liquids (water and ethanol, heavy and light oils). Other mixtures do not mix spontaneously (mechanical or chemical energy must be applied), and not on a molecular scale: if we examine the structure of the mixture, we find particles or droplets of one phase (B) dispersed in another phase (A). Generally speaking, dispersed materials are any systems made up of small domains of one phase, dispersed in another phase
