Men, just like women - and perhaps even more than women, as we'll see later - are subject to a great deal of stress. Faced with stress of any kind (pathology, adverse environmental conditions, human relationships), the body reacts rapidly by producing adrenaline (medullary axis) and more slowly by producing cortisol (hypothalamo-hypophyseal axis).
