4. Enthalpy of reaction
A chemical reaction can be written in condensed form as :
M i represents the reactants (constituents of the first member) or products (constituents of the second member) of the reaction. ν i represents the stoichiometric numbers (ν i > 0 for the products, ν i < 0 for the reactants).
