rayon de gorge; waist
Commonly used Anglicism meaning "neck" (constriction) of the bundle.
fine lens; tiny lens
The thickness of the lens is small compared to the difference between its two radii of curvature.
optique paraxiale; paraxial optics
Optics of centered optical devices in which light rays remain close to the optical axis.
transfer matrix; matrice de transfert
Two-dimensional matrix giving the coordinates of a light ray at the output from those at the input of an optical device.
laser; laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation)
A device for amplifying light by stimulated emission of radiation.
