The universal scintillator does not exist. Among all the parameters described in paragraph 3 , it is crucial to sort the priorities. The number of existing scintillating material types is rather large, all of them having their own specificities. In order to focus on the appropriate one, the first criterion is to estimate the desired timing performance.
