Hemispherical projection

A few attempts have been made to project images onto a hemispherical screen in order to give a group of spectators, gathered in the center of a dome, the illusion of vision in the total field [63][64] . In general, the images are recorded by a 180° lens and occupy a circular position on the film, within which they are affected by spherical perspective distortion; this distortion is compensated for when projected onto a hemispherical dome [65] .
