INTRODUCTION
This article describes the various techniques used to improve soils by injection. Soil injection is an improvement technique designed to modify the mechanical and/or hydraulic properties of soils, some of which are used to create inclusions and/or structural elements.
Each chapter begins with a presentation of the technique under study, then goes on to define the areas of application, in particular as a function of soil type. The balance between advantages and limitations enables us to compare techniques and make the right technical and economic choice. The essential elements for good design and precise dimensioning of geotechnical structures are indicated. The execution and works section is followed by advice on the monitoring, control and instrumentation of structures, essential in the field of soil injection techniques.
This article presents :
biological methods ;
cement and chemical injections ;
deep Mixing Method ;
jet grouting ;
solid injection ;
injection of expanding resin.
