6. Creep associated with oxidation and/or fatigue phenomena
In rotating machines such as gas turbines or aeronautical turbomachines, creep is combined with either oxidation or fatigue (cyclic mechanical stress), or often both.
6.1 Effect of oxidizing atmosphere on creep behaviour
The two main oxidation phenomena are :
