1. General

1.1 Performing a creep test

A creep test is broken down into two stages (figure 1 ): loading and creep.

In practice, it's not always easy to carry out a constant stress test. Indeed, if the deformation is significant, the test is carried out at constant force: the stress increases during the test with the elongation of the specimen (figure 1 ). The creep test is defined by standard NF A 03-355.

Depending on the materials and equipment used during the test, numerous precautions need to be taken. In particular, for a high-temperature test, it is necessary to reduce the time needed to obtain a perfectly...
