2. Sampling

2.1 Finished or semi-finished products

The various manufacturing and shaping operations, as well as heat treatments, are designed to produce a regular macrostructure.

In principle, therefore, no special precautions need to be taken to locate the sample for global analysis, apart from removing the surface layer (more or less oxidized or polluted by machining agents such as MoS 2 ) on raw products from casting, rolling, etc.
