5. Heat treatments

Heat treatments impart properties to steels that make them suitable for their intended applications. They must therefore be properly controlled and tailored to each major family of stainless steel. All heat treatments are discussed in detail at [M 1 155] .

5.1 Heat treatments of martensitic grades
