microstructure; microstructure

Set of characteristics of a material, especially polycrystalline, such as grain size and shape, crystallographic orientation of grains, deformed or recrystallized fraction.

texture cristallographique; crystallographic texture

Crystallographic grain orientation, defined by an orientation density probability function, one limit of which is the case where all grains have the same orientation, the other the case where each grain has its own orientation, with no preference for one (each having the same a priori probability of being observed).
