1.1 Texture origins and symmetries
The texture and other structural parameters of polycrystalline aggregates are formed by all kinds of solid transformation processes, which take place throughout the material's history. These processes include :
crystallization from a non-crystalline state: vapor, liquid, glass (amorphous solid);
plastic deformation: sliding, maculation, diffusion ;
recrystallization: primary (static, thermal activation), secondary, grain coarsening ;
phase transformation: by diffusion, by martensitic transformation ;
rigid particle rotation: due to mechanical, electrical or magnetic forces....
