1. Basic principles of tomography

In its general principle [P 950] , industrial X-ray tomography is a NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) technique which consists in reconstructing an internal map of the attenuation of X-rays by the material from multiple attenuation measurements acquired from several angles spread over 360°; each angle of view delivering what is called an attenuation projection.
