steel; acier

Material containing by mass more iron than any other element and whose carbon content is generally less than 2% and which contains other elements (standard NF EN 10020 )  [M 4 520] .

unalloyed steel; plain steel or carbon steel

Steel without any deliberate additions and with a content of elements other than C of less than 0.1%.

low-alloy steel; acier faiblement alllié
